Family Support, SEND Consultancy & Professional Collaboration

Supporting the Whole Family

Because supporting a young person means supporting the people and professionals around them.

Working together around a young person

At Wild Minds, we recognise that a young person's education, wellbeing and development cannot be considered in isolation.

Behind every young person is a network of people who care about them. Parents, carers, siblings, teachers, SENCOs, EHCP Coordinators, social workers, health professionals and other services can all play an important role in helping them thrive.

We believe the best outcomes happen when everyone works together, shares an understanding of the young person's needs and feels supported to move forward.

Our approach is holistic, compassionate and collaborative. We look at the bigger picture, recognising that challenges in education can affect family life, relationships, emotional wellbeing, independence and future opportunities.

We don't just support young people. We work alongside the people supporting them.

Here for Families

Navigating SEND services can be confusing, frustrating and exhausting. Families are often expected to understand complicated systems, coordinate multiple professionals and make important decisions while managing the demands of everyday life.

Wild Minds offers practical, personalised support to help families feel informed, confident and heard.

Our services include

  • EHCP applications, annual reviews and understanding provision.
  • Autism and ADHD diagnostic pathway guidance.
  • Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Personal Independence Payment (PIP) application support.
  • SEND advocacy and preparation for professional meetings.
  • Education options, alternative provision and transitions.
  • Parent and carer guidance, wellbeing and practical support.
  • Whole-family planning and coordinating support.

We work at each family's pace, helping them understand their options and take manageable steps forward.

Working with Schools & Education Professionals

We recognise the pressures schools and education settings face when supporting children and young people with complex and overlapping needs.

Wild Minds can work collaboratively with schools, SENCOs, inclusion teams and other education professionals to develop practical, person-centred approaches.

This may include support with understanding individual needs, identifying barriers to engagement, reasonable adjustments, emotionally based school non-attendance, reintegration planning and transitions between settings.

Our aim is to strengthen the network around the young person, share knowledge and find realistic solutions that work across home and education.

Working with EHCP Coordinators & Local Authorities

We welcome opportunities to work alongside EHCP Coordinators, SEND caseworkers, commissioners, social care teams and local authority professionals.

Our approach focuses on open communication, collaborative problem-solving and ensuring that the young person's voice and family circumstances remain central to planning.

We can support information gathering, preparation for reviews, understanding barriers to engagement, transition planning and coordination between families and professionals.

We recognise that different services have different responsibilities, and our role is to help build constructive relationships and improve communication rather than duplicate statutory functions.

Bringing the Support Network Together

Better communication. Shared understanding. Joined-up support.

Sometimes the biggest challenge isn't a lack of people trying to help. It's that everyone is working separately.

We believe in bringing families, schools, EHCP Coordinators and other professionals together wherever appropriate, with the young person at the centre.

By developing a shared understanding of needs, strengths, aspirations and barriers, we can help create more consistent, achievable plans.

This may involve collaborative meetings, family-led planning, professional liaison, reviewing existing support and identifying practical next steps.

Our work is grounded in the belief that families should feel included in decisions, professionals should feel able to work together and young people should have a meaningful voice in their own futures.

Who Can Access Our Support?

Our family and consultancy services are available to:

  • Parents, carers and wider family members.
  • Young people seeking guidance about their own support.
  • Schools, SENCOs and education settings.
  • EHCP Coordinators and SEND teams.
  • Local authorities and commissioners.
  • Social care and other professionals supporting children and young people.

Families do not need to have a child attending Wild Minds Alternative Provision to access our support.

Some consultancy services are chargeable. Fees and the scope of support will always be agreed in advance. Free independent SEND advice services are also available.

Wild Minds provides practical support, guidance and advocacy. We do not provide clinical diagnosis or regulated legal representation.

Let's Work Together

You don't have to navigate everything alone.

Whether you're a parent unsure where to begin, a school looking for a fresh perspective or an EHCP Coordinator working to bring the right support together, we'd welcome a conversation.

Sometimes the most valuable first step is simply getting everyone talking.
